Sherri Gollins joined the NINDS Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) in January 2016 to manage the IRB Database, PTMS owned by NINDS. When the centralized IRB was established, NIH also transitioned to one IRB protocol management system, which would be owned and run external to NINDS. Since that time, she has served the CTU as a Data Manager within the Data Management Office. In her role, Sherri provided user support for the new NINDS database, CiSTAR. She currently serves CTU as a Quality Assurance/Quality Control auditor and monitor for all NINDS intramural non-exempt research. In this role, she performs off Site Initiation visits, regular protocol audits, for-cause audits, and on-going monitoring of trials conducted in the intramural research program to ensure compliance with Federal Regulations, NIH policy and NINDS policy.

Ms. Gollins received her A.S. in Dental Hygiene at Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas, and her Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene from The University of New Mexico.  Prior to coming to the NIH, she had practiced dental hygiene in the private practice setting, in addition to many public health programs in the state of New Mexico. In 2001, Ms. Gollins joined the NIH/NIDCR where she provided patient care and research support for six years prior to transitioning into the field of Human Subjects Research Protection.

Ms. Gollins served as a Protocol Specialist in the Office of Protocol Services. In 2011, she joined the NIDDK/NIAMS IRB as an IRB protocol coordinator prior to joining the NINDS Clinical Trials Unit.
