Dr. Ran Zhang is a Scientific Project Manager in the Neurogenetics Cluster at NINDS. She coordinates implementation of the NIH Genomic Data Sharing (GDS) Policy and oversees the Institute-wide effort on sharing of biological samples and genomic data that are generated from the NINDS funded studies. She serves as NINDS Genomic Program Administrator (GPA), being the Point of Contact for policy development, implementation, and all questions regarding the management of large-scale genomic data in the NIH Database of Genotypes and Phenotypes (dbGaP). Dr. Zhang also serves as Contracting Officer's Representative for the contract of the NINDS Human Genetics DNA and Cell Line Repository, a resource that receives, processes, analyzes, stores, and distributes biological samples and associated data for genetic and genomic research. She received her Ph.D. in Biochemistry from The American University in Washington, DC.
