Dr. Jenny Panlilio (she/her) is a Health Science Policy Analyst in the Office of Neuroscience Communications and Engagement (ONCE), Neuroscience Content and Strategy (NCS) Branch, at the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS). The mission of the NCS Branch in ONCE is to provide strategic planning and coordination of dissemination of NINDS neuroscience content, primarily for scientific audiences, to accelerate scientific progress.

Dr. Panlilio serves as the communications specialist for the NINDS Division of Intramural Research. She believes that science is most impactful when it integrates multiple disciplines, engages people with lived experience, and is clearly communicated.

Prior to joining ONCE, Dr. Panlilio was an intramural postdoctoral fellow in the laboratory of Dr. Harold Burgess at the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD), where she studied the neural basis of alertness using zebrafish as a model. She earned her Ph.D. in Oceanography and Oceanographic Engineering from the joint program between the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, where she studied the effects of algal neurotoxin exposure on neural development and behavior. She earned her M.A. in Environmental Anthropology from Stanford University, focusing on social factors that determine successful management of marine reserves, and she earned her B.S. in Marine Science and Biology from the University of Miami.
