NINDS R35 No Cost Extension Policy

  1. R35 research program awards from NINDS can have a single no cost extension (NCE).
  2. It is not automatically granted, as grants should typically not be going beyond an 8th year. Thus, NINDS R35 NCEs require prior approval by the Program Officer/Grants Specialist at the time of official request pursuant to their 8th year.
  3. A second NCE is not allowed under any circumstances.
