Shane Crandall was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Neuroscience Department at Brown University. In the lab of Dr. Barry Connors, Shane’s research aimed to understand the basic physiology of neural circuits in the neocortex and in the thalamus, two reciprocally connected brain areas that are responsible for generating activity essential for normal sensation, movement, and cognition. Shane received his Ph.D. in Neuroscience from University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign and his B.A. in Biology/Neuroscience from Boston University. Currently, Dr. Crandall is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physiology at Michigan State University.
