Bess Frost was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. In the lab of Dr. Mel Feany, her research identified lamin dysfunction and subsequent widespread relaxation of heterochromatic DNA as a novel mechanism, whereby tau causes neuronal death in Alzheimer's disease and related tauopathies. She earned her Ph.D. in biomedical sciences at the University of California, San Francisco and received her B.S. in cellular and molecular biology at The University of Texas at Austin. Currently, Dr. Frost is an Assistant Professor at the Sam and Ann Barshop Institute for Longevity & Aging Studies, the Glenn Biggs Institute for Alzheimer's & Neurodegenerative Disorders, and the department of Cell Systems & Anatomy at the University of Texas Health in San Antonio, TX.
