Awarded Project
Noncanonical Glutamate Signaling in the Origins of the Migraine Attack
Dr. Brennan is a clinician scientist who studies the neurobiology of headaches. His lab studies brain excitability in both animal models and humans, with particular focus on the basic mechanisms of migraine and post-traumatic headache. His project will explore the role of glutamate plumes, a novel form of glutamate signaling in migraine, elucidating whether these plumes may be the earliest measurable element in a migraine attack.
