NINDS Offices and Divisions Information

  • Office of Research Quality: The NINDS Office of Research Quality promotes experimental and analytical rigor, measures to reduce bias, transparent reporting, and high-quality scientific research.
  • NINDS Division of Translational Research (DTR): DTR accelerates basic research findings towards patient use for neurological disorders and stroke by providing funding, expertise, and resources to the research community.
  • NINDS Division of Clinical Research (DCR): DCR provides oversight for clinical trials to test the safety and efficacy of innovative treatments of neurological disorders and stroke, epidemiological studies of natural history, biomarker studies, and studies designed to elucidate the causes of neurological disorders.
  • Office of Global Health and Health Disparities (OGHHD): OGHHD leads the coordination and development of programs and initiatives that foster global research and research on health disparities in neurological disorders and stroke.  
  • NINDS Intramural Research: Investigators in the NINDS Intramural Research program, launched in the 1950's, conduct research in the basic, translational, and clinical neurosciences at the NINDS Bethesda, Maryland laboratories.
